BRAND FOUNDATIONS EXPLAINED

what is it?

A deep understanding of what’s unique about your business.

This can be your product(s), your approach, or your beliefs. You’ll know the concepts behind the business, who’s going to care about it & the value you’re bringing to the world.

why does it matter?

If you don’t know it, you can’t communicate it.

Effective communication is the cornerstone of any brand. When you can tell a unique and honest story your brand will naturally resonate with your audience. There’ll be no need to lie or feel slimy marketing your business.

If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.

When you have a deep understanding of your unique & authentic story, you can feel comfortable & confident in your identity & messaging. You don’t have to look at instagram or pinterest to see what others are doing, you can focus on you.

when should this happen?

Whenever you learn you need it, it is the perfect time to do it.

You can benefit from developing your foundation whether you’re creating a brand new business, expanding your product line, adding a new location or starting the process of a rebrand.

what can you expect from going through your Brand Foundations with FK?

By the end of the process you'll come out with a brand guide that outlines:

Keywords

Key Concepts

Audience Definition

Value Proposition

Positioning Statement

Mission Statement

The process starts with an initial 90 minute discovery meeting where we’ll ask you a lot of questions and practice some deep, active listening. From there we start to formulate a brand guide outlining the deliverables above. Next we’ll present our findings and talk through the details to see what resonates. We’ll work with you to refine any words or phrasing to ensure you’ve got clear direction and knowledge of who your brand is and how to communicate it.

what’s next?

You’ll have the foundation and next it’s time to communicate your brand to your audience.

We start with a visual dialogue, a mood-boarding process that delves into what visual communication is & how to utilize visual messaging through icons, imagery, typography & color. From there it’s time to develop your visual & verbal identities. The visual identity can include logo packages, merchandising, packaging, space and web site. The verbal identity is all of your written messaging including tone of voice, writing styles and taglines.

Timelines, outcomes and costs vary between projects, let us know and we’re happy to get you an estimate for the process that matches your needs.
