draft - a coworking space for creatives

Draft is a coworking space in Indianapolis and was a unique project for us in that the product they offer is the space itself and the experience of simply being there.  A community workspace specifically catering to creatives requires an approach that exists outside the world of chain co working spaces, where concepts of independence can serve as an oxymoron to the reality of rigid and overly prescribed environments.  The goal was to create an atmosphere that embodies a sort of feedback loop between a blank slate that asks for creative input and in the same breath, inspires experimentation and play.

Balance in this instance, as with most projects we work on, is key.  Tons of natural light, refined materials, and a subtle color palette create a sense of spaciousness and ease while carefully placed pops of color, geometric patterns, and custom pieces from local and regional artists and makers foster the a-hah moments we seek as creatives.

The equilibrium of the space echoes the intentionality behind the approach to service provided by the founders and staff.  They are there to act as a backdrop of support, providing you with basic needs (and snacks),  intuitive systems for use of both open and private spaces, and to help facilitate connections between members.  The people you meet, the things you create, the problems you solve, the shared experiences you have, is what gives the space its energy.
